About Hisaab

Hisaab is a free collection of financial calculators for India and the US: SIP, lumpsum, loan EMI, income tax, GST, HRA, gratuity, FD, RD, PPF, NPS, SWP, CAGR, goal planning, inflation, global investing and zakat. It was built to do one thing well: give you the honest number.

The honest-number principle

Most calculators stop at a single, flattering figure: the nominal, pre-tax amount. Real life subtracts two things from that number, inflation and tax, and Hisaab shows both, drawn right into the result rather than hidden in fine print. A corpus in 20 years is worth far less in today's money; gains attract capital gains tax on the way out. You should see what you actually keep.

Private and free, by design

Every calculation runs entirely in your browser. There is no sign-up, no login, no ads and no tracking, and nothing you type is sent to a server. The site is static and fast, and every result is shareable as a link. It is also built to be useful to AI agents: every calculation is addressable via URL parameters and the live result is embedded as machine-readable JSON.

Accuracy and honesty about limits

Tax slabs, capital gains rates and reference data are kept current (June 2026 as of writing) and published openly at data/rates.json with sources. That said, Hisaab provides estimates for planning, not financial, tax or legal advice. Always verify against the Income Tax Department or the IRS, and consult a qualified professional for decisions that matter.
